These adorable Pretzel Stick Snowmen are a fun and easy holiday project that kids love to help make. They are perfect for holiday parties, school treats, or just a fun afternoon activity with the family. Best of all, they are as delicious as they are cute!
Ingredients
- Large pretzel logs
- White chocolate candy melt
- Gummy Life Saver candy
- Gum drops
- Fruit leather (cut into 1/4" to 1/2" strips)
- Black decorating gel
- Orange sprinkles
Instructions
- Make the hats: Stretch a gummy Life Saver over the top of a gum drop to create a tiny top hat. The Life Saver forms the brim while the gum drop forms the crown of the hat. Set these aside.
- Melt the candy melt: Place the white chocolate candy melt in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 45 seconds. Stir well and continue heating in 15-second intervals until smooth and fully melted.
- Coat the pretzels: Spoon the melted candy melt over half of each pretzel log, covering the top portion evenly. Work over a sheet of parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Add the hat: While the candy melt is still soft, press a gummy top hat onto the very top of the coated section of the pretzel.
- Add the nose: Press a single orange sprinkle into the soft candy melt to create the snowman's carrot nose.
- Add the scarf: Wrap a strip of fruit leather around the pretzel where the candy melt meets the bare pretzel to create a colorful scarf.
- Add the details: Once the candy melt has set, use black decorating gel to dot on the eyes, mouth, and buttons down the front of the snowman.
Helpful Tips
- Work in small batches so the candy melt stays soft enough to attach decorations.
- If the candy melt starts to harden, reheat in 10-second intervals in the microwave.
- Let the candy melt set completely before adding the decorating gel details to prevent smearing.
- Use different colored fruit leather for variety in the scarves.
- These make wonderful gifts when wrapped individually in cellophane bags with a ribbon.
